Participants compete in the following age categories:
Your entry will be inspected upon drop off. If it does not meet all of the rules, it will not be permitted to compete in the contest. Contestants must remain in the lobby and are not allowed to set up their display in the gymnasium, so please build your display with minimal or no assembly required.
When you drop off your entry, you will be given a receipt with your assigned entry number, first name, last name, and age category. A photo will be taken of your LEGO creation with its assigned entry number, so there can be no mistake which LEGO creation belongs to which entry number.
When you pick up your entry, you will need the receipt that was given to you when you dropped off your entry.
If you cannot pick up your entry on the pick up day, you may contact the church to schedule a pick up time during business hours. After March 16, 2024, any entry not retrieved will be considered a donation to Pataskala Grace Church.
Within each age category there will be three winners!
If winners are not present at the award ceremony to claim their prize, they will be contacted by the church to schedule a pick up time during business hours. After March 16, 2024, any prize not claimed will be considered a donation to Pataskala Grace Church.
Public Voting
The public will pick their favorite entries from each age category. Every public voting ballot will include one raffle ticket for a chance to win a raffle prize!
Panel of Judges
A panel of three judges will score each entry on the following criteria:
Originality: Does not contain major aspect(s) from LEGO designed kit(s). Shows imagination and creativity. Recreating a scene from Avengers may be exciting and a replica of Central Park may be well constructed and presented, but these ideas are not as original as creating a unique story or park.
Construction: Shows regard for stability and engineering. Good construction does not necessarily mean a large display with lots of bricks.
Consider the quality of the build and the use of its elements and space.
Presentation: General appearance and neatness. Design can be clearly understood (judges do not question what the participant is attempting to portray).
Judges will dock points from entries in the younger age categories if it is evident an adult did most of the work.
You must participate in public voting to receive a raffle ticket. Contestants are allowed to vote. The drawing will be held at the award ceremony.
If winners are not present at the award ceremony to claim their prize, they will be contacted by the church to schedule a pick up time during business hours. After March 16, 2024, any prize not claimed will be considered a donation to Pataskala Grace Church.
Pataskala Grace Church has the right to refuse any entry deemed inappropriate.
Photographs of entries may be taken and used in promotion of Pataskala Grace Church programming and services.
Pataskala Grace Church will do their best to return each entry in the condition that it is received. All possible care will be taken when handling the entries. During the public viewing and voting, "DO NOT TOUCH" signs will be placed throughout the entries and volunteers will be keeping close supervision. Despite these measures, Pataskala Grace Church cannot 100% guarantee the safety of any participant's entry.
By entering the contest, all participants agree to release Pataskala Grace Church of all liability that could result from participating in the contest, attending the contest, or the awarding of contest prizes. Pataskala Grace Church is not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen entries. A participant enters his/her LEGO creation at his/her own risk.
